Getting Comfy at Bed Time

Bed time is supposed to be the most relaxing time of the day. It’s a time for winding down, de-stressing and getting your body some well deserved rest. But if you’re sleeping on a bed you don’t feel comfortable in or wearing pajamas that don’t feel right, you could be robbing yourself of precious sleep time.

You don’t necessarily have to have a memory foam mattress or satin pajamas, but you do need a comfortable sleep spot. Most sleep experts recommend keeping the temperature of your bedroom a little on the cool side. This makes for the most relaxing sleep.

It’s also recommended that the bed not be used as for anything but sleeping. That means getting rid of that big screen television hanging on the wall bedroom wall. Repeatedly falling asleep and waking back up while watching a movie or television show is extremely disruptive for restful sleep.

If you’re using an older mattress that’s lumpy and uncomfortable, it’s time for an upgrade. Even a cheap mattress that’s brand new will provide more support than an older one that should be headed for the land fill.

Good sleep habits are an important component of a healthy lifestyle. So grab a cozy flannel pajama top, a firm mattress and go to bed!
